The first article is an essay I wrote a few weeks ago, sharing personal views on the challenge for insurance players to modernize their IT systems. Due to heavy legacy and millions of customers to serve on a daily basis, updating systems is a growing challenge as technologies in place get old fashion.

The second article is a video discussion we had together with Alexandre Pengloan on the make or buy dilemma. As IT risks are surging, incumbents face operational challenges with their existing IT systems and AI require to move faster, there were two clear options to upgrade the legacy. Thanks to AI itself, a third options emerges. The discussion starts at 14'47", is in French only, and leverages the example of code.store which enables such an option for insurance players.
The third article is an essay Patrice BERNARD put together following Claude's introduction of a new feature to deal with COBOL. In the insurance industry, and Financial Services more broadly, this is still a programing langage and IBM has long been leading that market. While employees with that knowledge increasingly become scarce, LLM could probably help modernize these infrastructures, or at least navigate them to keep them up & running.
