1/ Lemonades' CEO on AI-first InsurTech (best of)

The first article is a summary I wrote on Lemonade CEO's keynote at InsurTech Insights in London earlier this year. He shared his views on AI could revamp the insurance industry. He not only detailed the benefits to improve operational efficiency, but also detailed how artificial intelligence could impact the underwriting part of the value chain. He also highlighted the challenges incumbents face with legacy systems. On the other hand, he shared insights on how technology enables Lemonade to keep growing with a flat team.

2/ M&A finally adds value in InsurTech (best of)

The second article is an essay I published at the end of the first half of the year to look back at the m&a dynamic in InsurTech Europe. If the number of deals is flat compared to the same period last year, the dynamic is different as two non-European tech players acquired startups. If that m&a wave took time to materialize and the first exits looked more like a default option, it seems that a new dynamic is at work and we might see more in the coming months.

3/ Alan brings gamification to healthcare (best of)

The third article is an essay I published following Alan's introduction of 'Alan Play' a gamification feature. I detail what this is about, how it resonates with the famous InsurTech's roadmap to revamp health insurance and I weigh pros & cons as many incumbents have already tried to move from payer to partner...
