HDI Embedded, a brand created by Europa Insurance, will offer insurance policies to customers of one of Italy's largest telecoms. Subscribers of Wind Tre will be able to choose protection for home appliances and electronics (so-called extended warranty) provided by the Polish company.
HDI Embedded was established within Europa Insurance last year with the goal of developing regional and pan-European partnerships with entities wanting to enrich their offerings with insurance services. The past few months have been dedicated to preparations for launch, but the first policies sold to Wind Tre customers mark the beginning of the entity's operational activities.

Italian Wind Tre, in addition to communication services, also provides its customers with energy, and now insurance as well. For this purpose, at the end of last year, it established the Wind Tre Assicurazioni agency and chose the insurtech wefox as its strategic partner. Wefox is expected to assist the telecom in selecting and integrating with chosen insurers who will offer Wind Tre customers protection tailored to their needs. It's worth mentioning that wefox, known in Poland mainly for its own insurance activities, also manages a platform on its native German market that connects intermediaries, insurers, and customers, and has ambitions to develop in the field of embedded insurance, as you could read in the article: "wefox with an Appetite for International Partnerships. "As part of our partnership strategy, we intend to choose the best insurer for each product we implement. This is what we are doing with HDI Embedded, whose offer we are introducing to Wind Tre," explains Fabrizio Scornavacchi from wefox, quoted in today's announcement.
HDI Embedded will offer Wind Tre customers insurance for home and electronic appliances. The protection will cover failures that occur after the manufacturer's warranty expires, with the policy cost starting from just under 5 euros per month. Currently, the insurance is sold only in stores, but it is expected to be available online within this month.
