We recently crunched 300+ InsurTech fundraising rounds announced in the European InsurTech scene.Here is what we learned about InsurTech France.
This analysis is covering a time period from Q1 2020 to Q2 2023. And the initial idea was to assess how the first quarters of this year compare to previous ones, as the startup and tech scenes are currently facing tough time.Overall, 70 deals have been announced in France in the last 14 quarters. This accounts for 23% of all InsurTech rounds unveiled over the same period of time.It is interesting to note that France has long been very active in terms of InsurTech. Two of its startups are in the unicorn club, and it has been one of the most diverse ecosystem with every business lines covered every year. And more recently, the dynamic remained quite high - compared to other local scenes - especially at Seed stage. It means this ecosystem keeps building the future of insurance innovation.In terms of money raised, France has accounted for over €1.227 million, which is 24% of total funding in Europe over the same period.
